Nestled in the heart of Suffolk countryside in Woodbridge is the stunning family-run wedding venue, Easton Grange. Formerly a working farm, now a private hire wedding venue where everything is onsite for full-day wedding celebrations, from prep to party and accommodation too!
5 reasons I love photographing weddings at Easton Grange
As a Suffolk wedding photographer and a recommended supplier at Easton Grange, I’ve had the absolute pleasure of capturing some beautiful weddings here. Here are five reasons why I love photographing weddings at Easton Grange (and why it might just be the perfect place for your big day). Plus, I’ll be sharing a collection of my favourite photos taken there, as well as highlighting some of the top photo spots that make it so special!

1. Everything you need, all in one place
One of the best things about Easton Grange is that everything you need for your wedding is on-site, from prep to party. For many couples, this is a huge bonus. No more worrying about transportation logistics or time crunches between the ceremony and reception. Instead, you can relax and enjoy every moment of your day without any stress. With everything in one stunning location, you get more time to celebrate with your loved ones and make unforgettable memories!
From a photographer’s point of view, having everything in one place is great for so many reasons:
- It allows us to move between capturing morning prep, the venue’s exterior, ceremony setup, and reception details before the ceremony begins. This means more time later for candid shots of you and your guests enjoying the day.
- Plus, no need to worry about rushing to parking for the ceremony or missing key moments.
- With careful timeline planning, the lead photographer can capture the bride’s preparations in the ‘Bridal Dressing Suite’ and the groom’s in the nearby ‘Bake House’.

2. The lighting
Being a wedding photographer who has a light and bright style of photography, Easton Grange complements my work because it is a venue filled with lots of natural light. From a photography point of view, lighting is something that can make or break a location and it is clear that Easton Grange has got it right.

3. The stunning grounds
Easton Grange’s picturesque location on the edge of the River Deben offers an idyllic setting for your wedding photos. In recent years the venue has installed a bridge over the river which makes for some lovely photos. Not only have you got the river but you also have the grassy meadow (perfect for golden hour photos), the lawn, the tree-lined driveway and many other areas with pretty planting. You could say you are spoilt for choice for where to have your couple portraits taken.

4. Great for all seasons
Easton Grange is truly a year-round gem for wedding photos. In the warmer months, the vibrant greenery, blooming flowers, and golden hour lighting create a soft, romantic atmosphere. As the seasons change, the venue transforms with the crisp beauty of autumn or the cosy, intimate vibe of winter.

5. A venue that truly cares
The team at Easton Grange is great. They go above and beyond to ensure every detail of your day is perfect, and their dedication makes my job as a photographer so much easier. Happy couples and well-organised events result in the most beautiful, stress-free photos.

Other things to mention about Easton Grange:
The Food: Whenever I have worked at Easton Grange the food I have been supplied as a supplier has always been amazing. The food is often something the guests will be talking about on and after the wedding day so getting it right is key.
The Accommodation: Before spring 2022, there was just the Bakehouse and the Farmhouse for accommodation but now next door to the Grange are the new Farmstead Lodges which are available for wedding guests to book too. This is great if you have friends and family coming from afar and they need somewhere to stay after your wedding.
Nearby Churches: This is great for couples looking to tie the knot in a church as there are 3 churches within a 10-mile radius of Easton Grange with the closest being only half a mile away.

Testimonial from Easton Grange couple Jess and Josh:
“Gemma was the most amazing photographer we could have asked for. The service we received from start to finish was exceptional. On the day it was like Gemma was part of our family, she was personable and built relationships with every single person at our wedding and our guests could not speak more highly of Gemma.
Gemma was everywhere but nowhere at the same time capturing beautiful intimate moments we didn’t even realise she had seen. Gemma captured every single moment of our day beautifully, when we look back at our photographs it is like reliving our whole wedding day, in fact, I don’t think there is one photograph we don’t love. We can’t recommend Gemma highly enough she truly is an incredibly talented photographer but above all an incredibly lovely person. Thank you so much Gemma we will always be grateful we met you.
