Emma and Tom’s rainy summer wedding at Le Talbooth in Dedham.
Both Emma and Tom chose to get ready at the Milsoms Hotel in Colchester. One of the benefits of getting ready at the Milsoms Hotel is that it is only a stones throw away from both Maison Talbooth and Le Talbooth. Another benefit is that guests can use the hotel for accommodation the night after the wedding too.
From memory staff offered lifts to the wedding couple between the venues in the Milsoms car, which was really helpful and one less thing to have to worry about on the wedding day.
Once ready Tom headed over to the ceremony location, Maison Talbooth to meet and greet the wedding guests. Whilst Emma had a few moments with her dad before it was time to say ‘I do’. The couple opted for an intimate wedding ceremony with just close family and friends present with an extended guest list for the reception.
Le Talbooth, a modernised 18th century building positioned next to the River Stour in Essex is where Emma and Tom held they afternoon of celebrations.
At Le Talbooth the full wedding party waited patiently for Emma and Tom’s arrival (by boat!) ready to congratulate them. About 10 minutes before they arrived the rain poured down and just like that suddenly stopped just in time for them to get off the boat. After rain had passed guests enjoyed the drinks reception in the manicured riverside gardens.
On site is a dedicated wedding marquee where the reception and the dancing took place. Emma and Tom decorated the marquee with floral centrepieces featuring roses and hydrangeas in their wedding colour which was baby blue. I personally loved their Mr and Mrs Caterpillar cakes!
I had an amazing day photographing Emma and Tom’s wedding and despite the on and off rain, it was an incredible day. Wishing them all the happiness. See photos from their Essex wedding below!
