Today we are chatting with Tori and Caroline, the faces behind ‘The Wedding Planners’ (TWP). I was really excited to ask TWP questions that will provide lots of advice to couples busy planning their wedding days. If you’ve been following my recent blog posts you’ll know I have started a blog series called ‘An interview with’ and you can see all the interviews in the series by following the link.
I first met Tori at a Glemham Hall wedding fair I was exhibiting at. It was from here on that we stayed in touch via Instagram and I saw the start of ‘The Wedding Planners’. Towards the end of 2018 the lovely pair took part in another blog post of mine answering ‘What does a wedding planner do’. For this blog post, we took the opportunity to take some on-brand headshots for them both which was great fun.
At the beginning of 2020, I had the pleasure of photographing a gorgeous styled shoot at Woolverstone Hall, planned and styled by TWP. We are currently awaiting it to be accepted and scheduled on a blog in the near future, so keep an eye out on our socials as we will of course be sharing all about it when it goes live!

TELL US YOUR STORY
We have a shared expertise in corporate management, luxury venue management and independent planning, which adds up to more years than we’d care to admit! We met in 2013 and worked together on and off for a few years. A few awards and a LOT of weddings later, we merged our businesses to become The Wedding Planners.
With a leadership background in events and project management, Caroline is key to the logistical planning of all TWP weddings. While Victoria is our true style perfectionist. She has a creative approach to every wedding, and ensures that every single detail comes together with ease.
WHERE ARE YOU BASED AND WHERE DO YOU COVER?
We’re based in Suffolk and plan weddings in London, Essex and Suffolk mostly, but can venture to wherever the weddings are really!
WHAT SERVICES DO YOU OFFER?
Anything from Full Planning, through to On the Day Co-ordination, welcoming a bit of partial planning in between: essentially we can help as much or as little as our couples would like!
HOW FAR IN ADVANCE WOULD YOU ADVISE BOOKING A WEDDING PLANNER?
As soon as you can. Clients often get in touch as soon as they get engaged. Some clients make a start on the planning and then get in touch when they find it’s all rather more work than they thought.
Some clients absolutely love the planning and get in touch with us closer to the wedding date to get some support with finalising everything and co-ordinating the wedding day itself.
WHAT WEDDING TRENDS ARE YOU LOVING?
Really we like exploring all styles with our couples, so the trends come and go but we always seem to work with couples that have a focus on great food & drink, fun for all their guests and a truly beautiful wedding day! But we’re expecting to see textures feature heavily with structural florals and foliage coming through thanks to flower ‘clouds’ & pampas grass, but continuing through in the linens and wedding attire. Expect embroidered dresses, table linens in velvet or textured cotton.
WHAT TIPS WOULD YOU GIVE TO COUPLES PLANNING THEIR OWN WEDDINGS TO HELP THEM STAY ORGANISED?
Focus your planning to set nights of the week. Take some time off and assemble a support team (professional or otherwise!).
DO COUPLES HAVE TO FOLLOW ALL THE TRADITIONS?
Absolutely not! If you don’t want to, you definitely don’t have to. You know what we really love? When couples make their own, new traditions.
CAN YOU HELP WITH ON THE DAY SETUP/CO-ORDINATION?
We have a team so absolutely, yes. You will often find us overseeing set-up the day before a wedding. We are often the first to arrive and the last to leave on a wedding day to ensure everything goes to plan.
WHAT ARE YOUR FAVOURITE STYLES OF WEDDINGS TO HELP PLAN?
Anything dry hire or marquee/temporary structure based! We love blank canvases that require true transformation.
WHAT ARE THE 3 MAIN BENEFITS OF HAVING A WEDDING PLANNER?

CAN COUPLES SAVE MONEY HAVING A WEDDING PLANNER?
They may do, but the real benefit is the suppliers we can introduce them to. We work with suppliers over and over again so have a really good little black book of trusted suppliers that we can recommend. Because we work independently we will always find the right supplier for the client and their budget. It’s about adding value for us.
DO YOU RECOMMEND SUPPLIERS TO YOUR COUPLES?
All the time, we have over 10 years of knowledge and experience meeting and working with suppliers so we’re all about honest recommendations.
HOW MANY MEETINGS DO YOU HAVE WITH COUPLES WHO YOU PLAN FOR?
As many as they need!
